Website Testing

Still looking for a good money making idea that works? and will pay you $10 for every website you test, either with your PC or mobile phone. Each test takes around 20 minutes to complete.

Webmasters are eager to learn about their audiences’ experience with their site so as to enable them to make any improvements where necessary. They pay Usertesting for a video of a real person (you!) actually using their site as they normally would.

To be eligible to become a tester you must be over 18 years of age and have access to a PC with a good broadband connection (if you don’t have a microphone, you can record your sample test with via telephone, but you will need a microphone if accepted on to the programme). You must also be computer savvy enough to use their on-screen recording software (nothing too difficult).

The recording only records what you can see on your screen, not you. You record verbally what you are doing as if thinking out loud, noting any difficulties with site navigation, layout, content, etc.

Signing up is free and easy, simply fill out the online form with your details (you will need to supply the email address associated with your paypal account) and then complete the sample test video. You will be required to make a 5 to 15 minute sample video recording so that can decide on approval for the paid tests. Follow the instructions given on-screen.  When you finish recording the video, you will be asked to answer some written questions and upload your sample test.

Although this sounds great in theory, there is no guarantee that you will get regular web testing jobs, testers are chosen depending on country, age, household income, gender and experience so not all work will be available to you. Website testing jobs are scooped up really quickly, so you have to be really on your toes to get in quick enough! Less work is available to testers outside of the US.

Having said that, this is a really good way to make money online for free. Even if you only get to test 10 websites a month, it’s still and extra $100 in your pocket – for just over 3 hours work, not bad!
